This floral arrangement isn’t like most others because it comes from a flower shop that isn’t like most others. The shop is Gaia Flowers, Gifts and Art in the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District at Charleston and Main (right across the street from the Arts Factory).
The arrangement is made of dehydrated white Monet lilies, protea and roses, with local desert accents. These flowers could have been thrown away, but instead our designer turned them into a delicately beautiful work of art that will last a long, long time.In addition, you might have noticed they are not in a typical vase. Rather, they’re in a bowl that was hand-made by a local ceramist and member of the Nevada Clay Guild, an important Gaia partner.
This arrangement typifies Gaia’s approach to the flower business: Whenever possible, we use cut flowers that are certified sustainable (through programs like VeriFlora or EcoFlora) and other elements that are recycled, dried, locally harvested or in some other way make less of an impact on the environment than the water-hungry, pesticide-laden flora you find in a typical store-bought bouquet.
