You really never ever know what little gem you'll find online. One day in February, we found a nugget of gold named Nathaniel Try. The headline on his site simply states, "My name is Nathaniel Try. I spend my life wandering and wondering." We would add to that ... "inspiring" ... based on the beautiful sentiments below that he posted at his site.

Taking Time to Download
One of the nice little freebies that come along with doing yoga is overhearing pearls of wisdom in the downtime between classes. This morning, the yoga teacher who was leaving was telling the yoga instructor who was arriving about the benefits of meditation. The instructor's metaphor was so perfect, that I ran to my purse and jotted it down so I wouldn't forget. Here goes:
Your brain is like a computer. All day long in our modernized society, we're constantly uploading new information to our brain. After a while, the machinery gets overburdened and clogged up and error-ridden. But meditation is like downloading some of that mental baggage onto an external hard drive and pushing restart. So you leave meditation with a fresh, new brain ready to once again face the information onslaught.

Video: Tim Miller with Pattabhi Jois
This video is priceless. It shows some of today's yoga greats all practicing at the same time with yoga legend Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga master Tim Miller (who leads workshops at our studio on February 10, 11 and 12) is in aqua shorts on the left. Eddie Stern, Richard Freeman, Chuck Miller and Maty Ezraty are also in the video. Awesome...awesome...awesome!
